For post-April-2016 records only. Contracting out and pre-2016 starting amounts can materially change the official forecast.
What this calculator does
It scales the full State Pension rate by qualifying years to show a forecast-style illustration. Contracted-out history, gaps, deferrals and pre-2016 records can change the official forecast, so this is not a substitute for GOV.UK.

Why two users can see different results
Why the result can differ
Different tax codes, payroll periods, Scottish bands, pension methods or lender assumptions can change the outcome.
One-off bonuses, pay frequency, overpayments, allowances and reliefs can move the result away from a simple annual estimate.
Where a rule depends on eligibility or legal status, this page shows an estimate and links to official guidance.
This section is intentionally repeated on key tools so the explanation stays near the result instead of being hidden in a separate policy page.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
How many qualifying years are needed?
A post-2016 record normally needs 35 years for the full rate and at least 10 years for any payment.
Is this my official forecast?
No. Use GOV.UK because pre-2016 and contracted-out records can change the result.
